When you work in a group your perception may be the same as others or very different. We generally assume that if we are feeling good about the group that others are as well.Likewise if we feel the group is dysfunctional that everyone feels that way. It is not always the case. Our perceptions and experiences are our own and we can learn much from others perceptions. To examine and reflect on experience is where we can find our most powerful learning.

Rate the following statements on a scale of 1-5, with 5 being high, 1 being low. Then answer the two questions. When you are finished you will have a few minutes to write your collective answers on a flip chart and note the felt differences within the group.

 1.      This group shared the leadership.              1   2   3   4   5

 2.      This group communicated effectively         1   2   3   4   5

 3.       I felt like my ideas were listened to            1   2   3   4   5
