Making Sense, Making a Difference
As Director of the Research and Evaluation Unit in Continuing Studies at Simon Fraser University (1997-2011) and more recently as a Hagge Global Institute consultant and research specialist, Dr. Dunlop has designed and implemented over thirty evaluation and strategic research projects in both the public and private sectors, focusing on leadership development and capacity building. Dr. Dunlop has expertise in quantitative, qualitative and mixed method research approaches, including survey design and analysis, ethnographic research, open-ended interviewing, focus group facilitation, multiple regression analysis, needs assessments, and follow-up and impact studies. Dr. Dunlop is also an Adjunct Faculty member in the Faculty of Education, has taught graduate courses in research methodology and program implementation. In addition, Dr. Dunlop has carried out team-based external reviews of universities in Botswana and the Philippines and has worked on projects with the Institute for Conservation Leadership in the United States and the Commonwealth of Learning around the world (Samoa, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore, India and the UK). Dr. Dunlop’s background is in adult education (Ph.D. in Educational Studies) and in applied economics (M.Sc. in Agricultural Economics).
